What's in My Camera Bag?

Sophia Carey

As a photographer that dabbles across a range of niches (that thing that all business experts will tell you not to do), my camera bag is full of lenses and equipment which almost any photographer would find useful.

Let's take a look at what's in my camera bag.

Cameras & Lenses

Canon EOS 650D

A crop-sensor starter camera at a low price. The camera is light and versatile, with an easy to use touch-screen which is able to rotate. This camera has lasted me years and I don't see it packing in too soon. Trusty and reliable.

Canon EF 50 mm 1.8 STM Lens

Often referred to as the "Nifty Fifty", this might be a cheap lens but it is one of my favourites and my go-to. Lightweight and perfect for portraiture and low light situations due to the low 1.8 aperture. The photograph above (Manga Saint Hilare) was taken with this lens.

Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG HSM Lens for Canon

With as low an aperture as 1.4, you're guaranteed that creamy bokeh. This is a sharp lens with a great focal length.

EF 24-70mm F/2.8L II USM Zoom Lens

Great focal length, perfect for instances where you need a diverse zoom lens.

Extras & Accessories

Canon LP-E8 Battery Pack

For the Canon EOS 650D. I always make sure that I'm always carrying two of these, especially whilst shooting weddings, although for most normal portraiture sessions I rarely run out of charge and have to move to the second.

SanDisk Ultra SDHC Memory Card 32 GB

32GB is perfect for shooting RAW.

Joby GorillaPod SLR-Zoom Tripod for SLR Cameras

Great little tripod, fits perfectly into your bag.

AmazonBasics 60-Inch Lightweight Tripod with Bag

Lightweight and easy to carry around, this tripod opens up to a more than decent height without the weight of carrying around a full size tripod.

APEMAN Speedlite Flash

Great flash for a low price; takes four AA batteries. Compatable with a range of camera brands, including Canon and Nikon.

Soft Mini Flash Bounce Diffuser Cap

Perfect for avoiding ugly shadows and harsh lighting, this little flash diffuser is tiny enough to fit in your pocket and elasticated so that it fits all different brands of external flash guns.

32-Inch 80CM Portable 5 in 1 Collapsible Light Reflector

As the name suggests, this reflector is a portable, collapsible, 5 in 1 reflector which is handy for reflecting and blocking light.

My Kit in Action

Here's a variety of my photographs, with the equipment use listed. To see more of my work, remember that you can check it out on my portfolio or on Instagram.
